The increasing demand for renewable energy, particularly renewable heat, is driving the development of geothermal resources across the World. In Europe alone, domestic space heating represents approximately 35% of the entire annual energy consumption. According to the International Energy Agency, growth in the use of geothermal heat for direct heating could increase sixfold over the next 30 years in all parts of the World.
